An avid reader and sarcasm specialist, Ashley’s quirky and bubbly personality, not to mention utter insanity, led to her love for writing at an early age. Living in Louisville, Kentucky, with her husband, Ashley spends most of her time writing and awaiting the zombie apocalypse. While her taste in books is expansive, she has a fondness for vampires, witches, and anything by Stephen King.
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
A red Ferrari. I was in the shower (of all places!) and in the middle of the rinse cycle, for no reason, an image of a candy apple red Ferrari popped into my mind. I couldn’t shake it. So, like most writers, I took my fuel and ran with it. I thought about where the car was, and giggled to myself when I pictured this fancy, expensive car, pulling up to the curb in a trailer park. Now, that’s NOT a knock at trailers, trailer parks, or anything of the sort, so please don’t get me wrong. In fact, I spent a good chunk of my life in a trailer, and fell in love with the sound of rain on the tin roof. But, how many red Ferrari’s are you going to see in a trailer park? Heck, I still don’t think I’ve seen one outside of movies!
After my shower, I sat down in front of the computer, and suddenly, a story started to tell itself. It was pretty awesome, especially when I took a break and read what I’d written. It was truly an amazing experience from beginning to end.
