The year is 2283.
Though more than a quarter-century has passed since the end of the last war, the Galactic Confederation is still busy picking up the pieces. Whole sectors of the galaxy remain lawless, rife with corruption and greed. The criminal element has a well-established foothold on these sectors.
It is a good time to be a bounty hunter.
Jesse Forster and the crew of the STARHAWK are some of the best bounty hunters in the business. Kayla Karson is a young independent hunter out to make a name for herself. Their paths collide as both take up pursuit of the leaders of the Nexus Gang, the galaxy’s most brutal crime syndicate. An uneasy alliance is formed as the two undertake the most difficult hunt of their careers. Great rewards are to be claimed, if they don’t kill each other in the process.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I have been a fan of science fiction since seeing the first Star Wars as an impressionable seven-year old in March of 1978. This instilled in me a love of the genre that continues to this day.
How is writing Science Fiction different from other genres?
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Many are distilled from people in real life, but many of the alien characters just come to me. As makeup artist Stuart Freeborn once said of his creations in Star Wars, "Many of my ideas come to me in dreams. Afterwards the show up in other people's nightmares."

Obudon City Spaceport, Planet Ryca
Just once, why can’t these dirtbags try hiding on a nice resort planet? Jesse Forster thought as he made his way through the milling crowds, mindful of the traffic as he crossed a busy thoroughfare. They always pick the most miserable places to go to ground. Information better be right this time. I want off this planet.
At least there was no rain. That much he was grateful for. Ryca in its rainy season was even worse of a slophole than it was now. The streets were muddy; the sidewalk was muddy, making navigation treacherous as his boots made wet, slucking sounds with each step.
He stopped before a dingy, windowless, two-story stone building with a single carved wooden sign hanging above the door that read: The Wandering Nomad, Libations & Intoxicants for All Species.
On the surface, there was nothing at all special about the Wandering Nomad. For the most part, it seemed no different from any other low-scale establishment in any city on any planet in the galaxy. Tonight, however, this particular watering hole was special.
His prey was here.
About the Author:
Born and raised in Queens, New York, I now reside somewhere in SE Wisconsin with my wife, daughters, and a wide assortment of fur-covered critters.
In March of 1978, my then-seven year-old self saw the original Star Wars in the theaters for the first time, an event that stirred within him a life-long love of science fiction and fantasy. By the age of twelve I began writing my own science fiction epics, a passion that continues to this day.
In addition to my space opera series The Starhawk Chronicles, I have contributed to the David Bowie anthology 47-16 (Penny Dreadful Publishing), Crossroads in the Dark volumes III and V(Burning Willow Press) and have released my own collection of short fiction, Other Worlds: A Collection of Science Fiction and Fantasy.
